Peachy Keen Stamps :: Getting to Know Lorie

Hello Hello! I know you are all eagerly awaiting the sneak peeks for our September release - and we have some coming tonight! :) What I've got for you this afternoon is a Q&A with another one of our designers, Lorie! She is as sweet as they get, and our Peachy family feels so lucky to have her on our team and more importantly, as our friend!

How long have you been a designer for Peachy Keen Stamps?
I joined the PKS family right about the time of the launch of the challenge blog. June of 2009, I think.

How would you describe your design style?
Whew! That's a tough one. The first word that comes to mind is busy. Seems like the more I can work into a card, the happier I am! LOL!!! Clean and simple is very difficult for me.

What is your FAVORITE Peachy Keen Set?

Oh, without a doubt, it's (PK-19 and PK-19A) What's So Funny. That is one of my favorite images of all time, and one that I used to tole paint from Kathy's Paint On A Happy Face books. That little snowman makes me smile every time I see him.

Besides stamping, what other crafts and hobbies do you enjoy?
Well, of course, tole painting, but since discovering Copics, I don't paint much anymore. I also love to crochet. Once I stumbled onto the card making scene about 6 years ago, pretty much all of my crafting has been focused on that. I am so hopelessly addicted!

Who inspires you?
Well, Kathy J. Has been inspiring me for a long, time, AND of course my fellow DT members are a constant source of inspiration. I visit Splitcoaststampers often, and I surf a lot of the challenge blogs, especially for inspiration for layouts/sketches. My list of favorite blogs to visit just keeps growing and growing.

You're asked to get crafty in a room with absolutely no supplies -you can bring five tools. What do you bring with you?

Hmmmm... My Making Memories self sharpening paper cutter, Copics, Crop-A-Dial, Big Shot, ATG gun. I have a pretty powerful addiction to patterned paper, so I'm sure I'd try to sneak in some of that, too!

What is your crafty space like?

Small, but workable. I've managed to cram a lot of stuff into a tiny little space, but it works for me. I always have the best intentions about keeping my space free of clutter, but those intentions quickly fade when I start creating. As soon as I start losing things, I know it's time to stop and clean it up.

What is your favorite music to play while creating?
I don't usually listen to music when I'm creating. My favorite thing is to have the window open when the weather's nice. I like to hear the outside sounds, and have that country breeze blowing in. I have a set of wind chimes right outside my window, and I love to hear those. I also like to have the TV on in my craft room. I don't often watch, so I guess I just like the noise.

We asked each designer to provide an image of their favorite Peachy Keen project to date.

Here is Lorie's! {It just happens to feature her favorite PK stamp, too!}

And here's our favorite project by Lorie! It showcases two of our best selling sets (PK-570 Everyday Faces and Faceless Fruit) gorgeously and the detail is amazing. One of her many jaw-droppers!

Peachy Keen Stamps :: Getting to Know Viv

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We're going to kick off your Monday getting to know our UK Designer, Viv, a bit better! She is an absolute riot, and keeps all of us laughing. So grab your cup o' joe (or tea, if you're from Viv's neck of the woods), relax, and enjoy reading about what inspires her!

How long have you been a designer for Peachy Keen Stamps?
I’m so lucky to have been with Peachy Keen since the very beginning in June 2009. My lovely friend Sonia, suggested I try out for the DT. I’m here thanks to her (and Kathy, for choosing me of course)!

How would you describe your design style?
Eclectic maybe? I don’t reckon I have a style of my own. We could have a poll! Guess the style!! LOL

What is your FAVORITE Peachy Keen Set?

Aah now, this is a no-brainer..PK-277, ‘Vivienne and Friends’ of course!! I love ALL the Peachy Keen stamps, but this set is SO special to me.

Besides stamping, what other crafts and hobbies do you enjoy?
You mean there are OTHERS???

Who inspires you?
It goes without saying that my DT friends inspire me constantly, ‘coz they are SO talented, but
If I’m really mojo-less, (and it happens often), I go to SCS or follower's blogs and I never fail to get inspiration from something, or someone.

You're asked to get crafty in a room with absolutely no supplies -you can bring five tools. What do you bring with you?

Ooeer! A magic wand, ‘coz I need everything!! If that’s not allowed,…
My Fiscar’s cutting tool, Copics, Score-Pal, double sided tape and my left-handed scissors.

What is your crafty space like?

It’s usually a mess! (Ask any of my friends)!! I have a good sized bedroom as my craft room, and most of the time, it’s like the wreck of the Hesperus!! I totally tidied it up at the weekend and it nearly killed me!! It’s lovely and neat at the moment, so much so, I’m scared of making anything!! HA HA! (It IS in the process of being re-vamped though and one day soon, it will be pretty instead of pretty awful).

What is your favorite music to play while creating?
I like atmospheric sounds. You know the kind, relaxation and mood music, like I’ve got on my blog at the moment. Crashing waves, howling wind, rain, birds screeching in the distance, Luvverly!

We asked each designer to provide an image of their favorite Peachy Keen project to date.
Here is Viv's (and might I add it is one of our favorites as well??!)!

And here's our favorite project by Viv! She was the inspiration behind Vivienne & Friends and she sure showcased this set beautifully!

Come back Saturday to see how Lorie answered these questions!
Have a great week everyone!

Getting to Know :: Joanna and Erin

Hi Everyone!! Tonight we're learning a but about Joanna and Erin - two of our newest DT family members! Join us tomorrow for a Q&A with Ruthie. :)

Getting to Know :: Joanna {Bandelin} scrap-making.blogspot.com

How long have you been blogging and what inspired you to create a blog for your creations?
I have been a blogger since the beginning of this year. When I first started my blog it was mostly so I can follow other bloggers that I thought were inspirational, but now I get to inspire others with my projects also! I like sharing my creations and getting feedback on what I make (it's always nice to get compliments for what you create!).

What are some of your biggest inspirations for creating?
My family is my biggest inspiration! Almost all of my scrapbook layouts are of my husband or my daughter (or my dog). Everything my daughter does inspires me to make some new page. When I'm card-making, I get most of my inspiration from books and magazines. And I love getting inspired by nature!

You're asked to get crafty in a room with absolutely no supplies - you can bring five tools. What do you bring with you?
Only five!? Well I couldn't live without :
1. My Cricut 2. My Gypsy 3. A White Gelly Pen 4. Twine and 5.Pop Dots

What is your FAVORITE Peachy Keen Stamp Face Set and why?
I love them all, but if I have to choose it would have to be the Laughy Taffy Face set. This is definitely my Go-To set! I just love how much life and personality these faces bring.

Your "go-to" colors to design with?
Kraft, pink and teal.

Favorite season or holiday to create for?
I love Christmas! It's my #1 fav holiday! I just get all warm and fuzzy inside when I see those cute little snowmen, penguins, gingerbread mans and reindeers! And I love making homemade gifts for everyone.

What die-cutting system or method do you primarily use to craft with?
My life pretty much evolves around my Cricut! LOL

What are five words that describe you?
1.Patient 2. Creative 3.Caring 4.Artistic 5.Friendly

******************************************************************

Getting to Know :: Erin Lee {Schreiner} www.erinleecreative.com

How long have you been blogging and what inspired you to create a blog for your creations? What are some of your biggest inspirations for creating?

I started my craft blog in 2010. I decided it would be a great opportunity to finally journal some of my work that I give away so I could look back at my past work. My biggest reason however, was to inspire others with ideas and creativity by sharing my personal creations. I draw inspiration from just about anywhere - my background is in advertising and graphic design, so ads, marketing campaigns, colors, magazines, and of course, PAPER are all inspiring to me.

You're asked to get crafty in a room with absolutely no supplies - you can bring five tools. What do you bring with you?
My Cricut Expression, Gypsy, paper, my ribbon collection and and my Peachy Keen Stamps of course! :)

What is your FAVORITE Peachy Keen Stamp Face Set and why?
Do I have to pick just one? My favorite set right now would have to be Retro Faces. I love how versatile they are. I can use them with so many different cartridges and get so many different looks.

Your "go-to" colors to design with?
Hot pink and black. And teal of course! Hence, my blog design :)

Favorite season or holiday to create for?
Halloween is not my favorite holiday, but definitely my favorite holiday to create for. I love the paper that comes out, the Cricut cartridges and of course the AWESOME Peachy Keen Stamps for cute monsters and pumpkins!

What die-cutting system or method do you primarily use to craft with?
My Cricut Expression and Gypsy

What are five words that describe you?
Fun-loving, creative, passionate, witty, optimistic

Getting to Know :: Kim and Heidi

Happy FRIDAY Bloggers & Peachy Friends!! You still have 9.5 days to get your entry in for our latest Tuesday challenge, and I hope you are as excited about our first Let's Face It Friday Challenge next week! Stop by our blog on Friday, September 17th to see creations from our five brand new DT members as they inspire us to make some yummy treats with our Peachy Keen Faces! I announced the new members last week, but since they are new friends (for me too) I wanted to get to know them a little better. I asked them a few questions and here's what they said!

Today, we're getting to know more about Kim & Heidi. Stop back tomorrow to learn a little more about Joanna & Erin, and on Sunday, we'll all get the 411 on Ruthie. ;)

Getting to Know :: Kim {Score} www.paperpunchaddiction.com

How long have you been blogging and what inspired you to create a blog for your creations?
I started my punch art blog one year ago this month! I was inspired to create a blog because I had been teaching stamping and scrapbooking for over 10 years. Everyone kept telling me to start a blog and share my creations, so I did. (Happy Blogiversary, Kim!!)

What are some of your biggest inspirations for creating?
My biggest inspiration for punch art is looking at real life photographs for animals and people. I also love to look at cheap color books for inspiration!

You're asked to get crafty in a room with absolutely no supplies - you can bring five tools. What do you bring with you?
I would love to bring all of my punches but since I couldn't adequately make punch art with only 5 punches, I would bring my fiskars paper cutter with cutting and scoring blade, scor tape, My Mind's Eye designer paper stack, satin ribbon, scissors

What is your FAVORITE Peachy Keen Stamp Face Set and why?
My favorite face set at the moment is Monster Mash, but I know it will change after Halloween is over. I like making little googly monsters and the faces are perfect for that.

Your "go-to" colors to design with?
Pumpkin pie, certainly celery, chocolate chip, cherry cobbler, pink pirouette, creamy caramel (retired), baja breeze (note: These are Stampin' Up colors)

Favorite season or holiday to create for?
Christmas

What die-cutting system or method do you primarily use to craft with?
Sizzix Big Shot

What are five words that describe you?
Creative, Helpful, Hard-Working, Funny, Smart

******************************************************************

Getting to Know :: Heidi Anne {Giebel} gotscraps.blogspot.com

How long have you been blogging and what inspired you to create a blog for your creations?
I've been blogging since March 2007. Prior to that I taught myself to write html and create websites using it. I had created a website for the Syracuse Post Standard newspaper column that I write and in 2007 I switched it over to a blog. A blog is so much easier to maintain. I actually have three blogs that I post to regularly but my paper crafting blog is my favorite.

What are some of your biggest inspirations for creating?
I truly get inspiration from everywhere, I could be going to pick up the mail and something I see along the way will inspire me. Lately, I've been so inspired to create while watching Project Runway. I'll be sitting watching and then all of a sudden I'll think of an idea. Art always inspires me. Renoir is a constant source, even looking at paintings that I've looked at dozens of times before. Marc Chagall is another one of my absolute favorites!! New supplies are so inspiring, scrapbooking supplies as well as art supplies. I also love to look at online paper crafting galleries, there are so many unbelievably talented ladies and gents out there!!

You're asked to get crafty in a room with absolutely no supplies - you can bring five tools. What do you bring with you?
A room with no supplies, that's a hard one. I would have to say,
Paper
my Cricut
my Peachy Keen Stamps
my watercolors
adhesives
I think I could get by with this list... but I'd love to have my white gel pen too!! :)

What is your FAVORITE Peachy Keen Stamp Face Set and why?
PKS-755 Critter Faces Set A Large!!!! It is so versatile. You can use it for critters and also people. You can use it for cows, pigs, birds, cats, dogs, squirrels, bunnies, the list goes on. Plus, there are at least five of the stamps you can use for people, including a little face with glasses!! Love it!

Your "go-to" colors to design with?
Well, lately my go-to colors have been Halloween ones. Typically, I use soft, neutral colors. I love pinks, peach, browns, tans, ivory and pale colors.

Favorite season or holiday to create for?
My favorite season is Autumn! I love all the holidays in the fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving, including back to school!! Halloween is such a fun holiday to create for, with trick or treating, costumes and scary (but sweet) creatures running all over the place.

What die-cutting system or method do you primarily use to craft with?
I use a Cricut Expression with Design Studio. I have 30 cartridges. Simply Charmed is the #1 cartridge on my wish list! I also have a Cuttlebug for my Peachy Keen thin metal dies and my embossing folders.

What are five words that describe you?
teacher, auntie, compassionate, artistic, a procrastinator

Just to clarify, for our Tuesday challenges, you do not need a Peachy Keen Stamp to enter. For our "Let's Face It Friday" challenges, you will need to use your Peachy Keen Faces somewhere on your project!

Ok! Now we got all the business out of the way, please let me introduce our
Fab Five - "just faces" DT!

Kim - www.paperpunchaddiction.com
Kim joined us on our last challenge as a guest DT and it was just awesome to see all the designs she came up with leading up to the challenge, for the challenge, then FOLLOWING the challenge, still! I love that she uses punches to create her own unique style. Her tutorials are totally inspiring.

Heidi - www.gotscraps.blogspot.com
You probably recognize Heidi as she is on our current DT! We just
love her positive, upbeat, and always cheerful personality. Heidi does amazing things with her Create-a-Critter cartridge (and MORE!) and our critter faces. We are so happy she'll be joining us on this new section of our DT Family!

Erin - www.erinleecreative.com
Erin's style is PURE IMPACT! It's no surprise she is a graphic designer by day, her work absolutely shows stunning color choices, and perfect element placement. I love seeing what she's done with our stamps already!

Joanna - www.scrap-making.blogspot.com
Joanna has a beautiful blog where she showcases creations she makes with her Cricut and her Gypsy. When I first started seeing her entries in our challenges, I was completely blown away! I love the whimsical spirit she always seems to capture in her creations.

Ruthie - www.septemberninth.blogspot.com
Ruthie's projects always feature the most GORGEOUS paper, and the magic of her work lies in the details. Each card always has a lovely coordinating inside (I am so guilty of just throwing a cut of cardstock inside and calling it a day - ha!) and perfect matching ribbons and ink! I know our faces would be amazing on anything she creates!

We can't wait to showcase all our new members' creations! Check back here next Friday for a little Q&A with our new DT, and mark your calendars for 9/17 - our very 1st "Let's Face It Friday"!!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!!!
~ Angelica :)
